What actually happens when you pre-qualify at a dealership

Pre-qualification answers a simple question: given your credit picture and income, what payment range is realistic before you fall in love with a vehicle. It is not a contract, and it is not a yes on a specific car.

Step one is information. You share identity details, housing, income, and existing obligations. Many dealers use a soft inquiry first so the score is not affected the way a full application is. Ask which type of check is being run before you continue.

Step two is a range, not a promise. A finance manager can talk in bands: roughly this payment, roughly this term, roughly this down payment — subject to the vehicle, the lender, and a full application later.

Step three is matching. Only after the range is clear does inventory matter. That matching happens at the registered dealership, in person, where the vehicle can be inspected and the contract can be completed under Ontario rules.

Nothing on this personal site is an inventory listing or an offer to sell. Consultations, trade-ins, financing agreements, and sales are completed exclusively at Frontier Fine Cars, 1261 Kennedy Rd, Unit A, Toronto.

At the premises

Delivery days happen in person at Frontier Fine Cars — not online. These are completed handoffs at the registered dealership, not vehicles advertised for sale.
